Taken

Hi Knitters,
I was taken with this photo today. Wendy knit the Wrap Me Up Puppy (in Itty-Bitty Toys) up for her friend who is having her fourth boy. Before she gave it away her daughter snuck in a squeeze and a kiss. Isn't that the sweetest photo?

Here is what Wendy had to say about her knit puppy project:
Thank you so much!
It is hard for anyone not to love this sweet little puppy - thank you for such a great pattern!
I had been looking for the perfect item to make for a friend expecting her fourth son. I didn’t want to make a baby hat since my friend is a new knitter and has been delving into hat making. I was searching Ravelry for something inspiring and saw another friend who made the Wrap-Me-Up-Puppy a favorite. Once I saw it - I knew I had to make it! I already had your book because I had previously made the hippo and sisters, but forgot all about the darling puppies :)
Unfortunately for my daughter, the puppy is not hers. I had to take it away from her throughout the knitting process because I kept finding the nose wet from her kisses (ha!)
Now I can’t decide if I want to make her a puppy of her own or possibly the giraffe. Perhaps it will be both!
Thank you again, Susan, I so enjoy your books and reading your blogs!!

There's just something about that blanket.

Thanks, Wendy, for sharing with me and letting me share your puppy and your adorable daughter on here.
best, susie

Thank You, Susie! My heart is swelling. My daughter and her two older sisters are delighted to see her photo with the sweet little puppy on your blog (especially since the puppy has now been put away to be wrapped).
You have made our day!
Wendy

What a sweet child! That picture is just so precious and she definitely needs a puppy of her own.

That is so sweet! I love that puppy. I'm almost done with two of your pigs! (I have two teenage nieces that love him). I'll post pics when I'm done!

Manda- It seems daunting at first, but is truly easy once you get the hang of it...the biggest struggle is to pick up the needles and push through the awkward phase- within a day or two, you'll have the hang of it! And Susan's patterns are very clearly and well written, so you'll be making puppies in no time!

Awww. OK, okay, OKAY!

I've been looking at projects from this book for years, but this one has pushed me right over the edge.

I've been a little behind on my blog reading (not to mention my giraffe knitting!) Today I just read the last few blogs and now I'm starting to get cranky. Even though I KNOW I don't have any interest in spinning. I never had an interest in spinning. Fifteen years ago someone offered me a lovely wheel and I turned it down because I wasn't interested in spinning. After reading your blogs I'm dying to sit down and spin some lovely, blended colors with lots of odd bits and pieces! Thankfully I live in a country where the supplies are hard to come by. In fact even decent yarn is hard to come by - I can't even get sock yarn here! Hopefully the fit will pass before I come home for my annual visit to the States. As it is I have to ship home some of my new yarns since I can't mange them all in my luggage! Imagine getting spinning supplies back. Customs is confused enough as it is with my groceries and knitting supplies!

I think I might just have to go hunt down your book and give the puppy a try.

That is absolutely adorable! It makes me want to abandon the scrunch scarf and grab my Itty Bitty Toys book to make a puppy and blanket for my son and soon-to-be-born daughter.

Thanks to Wendy for sharing her beautiful child (and handiwork!) with all of us. :)
