Flower Pacifier Clip
I have had a few questions about the double knitting technique used in Itty-Bitty Nursery to make various projects like the flower pacifier clip (free pattern!) also available on the sidebar, the on-the-go tote and the feet and hands for the garden mice. I love this technique because it allows you to knit two sides at once instead of knitting separate pieces and then seaming them together. You are actually knitting a tube with back and forth row knitting. This is an easy technique to add to your repertoire. You can do this one with ease.
This is a short three minute video because that's how simple it is to double-knit. I hope this helps a bit.
Hope you are having a nice Sunday, Knitters.

You always make things look so easy :) This is yet another pattern from your wonderful book that I want to knit one day! thanks for taking the time to show us how Susan.
Hope you're having a lovely Sunday.
I have had your book since it first came out and today I decided to do the flower....had a little bit of trouble figuring out the petals. Whala.....check the blog and what are you doing.....a tutorial on the petals....Just can't believe it! Anyway love the idea, very quick and simple. You are amazing!
Good video! Thanks for posting it.
What a great video! Thanks so much for showing that cool technique. I'm a visual learner, and actually "seeing" you execute that clicked in my brain. You rock! Leslie
You do a great job on these videos. I haven't ever used this technique, but it sure looks like fun.
I am going to come back here as soon as I get my book. I just ordered Itty-Bitty Nursery AND Itty-Bitty Hats. I can't wait for them to get here!! I am so glad that you give tutorial support for your books! Thanks!
You are so comfortable on camera...I wonder when Martha will call. :)
I made your flower paci clip a few weekends ago, and it was easy once I got over my extreme fear of purposefully taking live stitches off the needles without yarn running through them to keep them from dropping. :-D
You make it look so easy.
I'd love to make the pacifier clips but when I clicked on the link for the free pattern blogger said it couldn't find it. Can you help me? thanks! love your books.
Sorry about that I guess my link isn't working, I will fix that. The link on my sidebar works, I just tried it.
Thanks for letting me know.
I agree with Betz about Martha - she should know ;-)
I'm so glad for creative gals like you!
Susie, I love your videos - would love to see a new one every week even if it's just a short how-to like today. You are so sweet and friendly!
Thanks for the video Susan! DId you ever over-think a pattern? After watching the tutorial I just laughed! You made it look so easy! When I went back to the pattern I had a hard time figuring out what I had been thinking! Thanks for the help and another lesson learned to follow the pattern as written and you might learn something new.
Thank you. I kept reading the instructions and drawing a complete blank.
Thank you so much for this video, it really helped! I'm a new knitter (as of November) and have only made a handful of projects. This one was by far the quickest and very easy. I was able to finish just in time for my sister's baby shower. Thanks again!
Oh my gosh, Thank you so much for that video! I was so confused, but not anymore.
Oh my Gosh, Thank you so much for that video. I was so confused, but not anymore!
oh my goodness, I was soooooo over thinking this whole process. I wish I had know this was meant to be a double knit! I wouldn't have had to bother you with my sill question on the Garden Mice Mobile post earlier. Thank you for the video, clarity is always such an amazing feeling.
I got that part, but had trouble sewing the parts together and adding the center. Any tips for doing that?
How do you record your video? They look so good. Do you just sit and point your webcam and film, or is there editing involved?
Great video Susan. Thank you. Your books, open friendly and easy to read style have created a whole new world of knitting for me - and wonderful new gifts to give to others. Truly, can't thank you enough. I'm a Susan B. Anderson evangelist.
Today I posted an entry on my blog with a link to this video.
I'd appreciate your letting me know if that's OK.
Thanks! I was not sure how to do the flower and this helped me so much!!!
Thank you! This was SO helpful!!!!
I would love to have this nice pattern! It's just too adorable! thanks for the video.
That was so simple! THANK YOU!
I would love to see how you sew the petals together to make the flower. The knitting was easy but having issues with the assembly. Thanks!
