Super-Duper Giveaway!

Hi Knitters,
I'm cleaning out big time. Which means if you want to win a big bunch of yarn you are in luck. I am throwing in a sweet little handmade apron in a 4-5 year-old size. I bought this for The Collector and she only wore it once or twice. It has been folded up in a drawer for years so it needs a good press. It is in perfect condition. The Collector isn't much of an apron girl and I'm not either. The apron has two buttons in the back. It is completely adorable and vintage looking and some little girl out there would just love it. It would make a great art smock, too.
Okay, here is the yarn that I will happily pack up and send to you when you win:
3 skeins of Tahki Cotton Classic in light blue (already wound full skeins)
2 skeins of Tahki Cotton Classic in off white (already wound full skeins)
4 skeins of Tahki Cotton Classic in white (already wound full skeins)
1 skein of Tahki Cotton Classic in red (already wound full skein)
2 skeins of Rowan All Seasons Cotton in Lemon (really pretty yellow)
2 skeins of Rowan All Seasons Cotton in Orange Creamsicle  variegated
1 skein of Rowan All Seasons Cotton in Denim variegated
1 skein Classic Elite Provence in purple
1 skein Classic Elite Provence in blue (already wound full skein)
2 skeins Tahki Cotton Classic Tweedy Cotton in multi blue, red and yellow
1 skein Tahki Cotton Classic Tweedy Cotton in multi purple, green and pink
1 skein Noro Sukara (gorgeous!!)
1 skein Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted in Georgetown #152 (gorgeous!!)
1 skein Cascade Luna 100% Peruvian Cotton in yellow

Yep, all of that is included. That's enough yarn for a whole lot of baby hats or for anything you feel like. I need to clear out and I hope you can help.

Leave me a comment on this blog post and say hi, tell me something good, tell me something funny, whatever comes to mind. Leave some sort of identifying information like a name, location, link, email address (it's up to you). Please do not email me to enter, you need to leave a comment. I am not sure when I will end this contest. Next week is spotty for me, I will be in and out and my work load is never-ending. I am just opening the contest up and then I will end it when I get a chance. I am leaving it at that. Leave only one comment, please.

I will randomly select a winner with a number generator. I will post the winner on my next blog post. The winner will have 2 days after I post to contact me with their mailing address. If I don't hear from the winner after 2 days I will select a new winner and then I will post it on the blog.

That's all. Have fun! Go for it!
best, susie
p.s. more to come...this is hardly scratching the surface.

Hi, there! I just love your yarns and all the delicious colors. :) I had the opportunity to see their luscious goodness and your very cute little projects at the Sock Summit. You have a very whimsical spirit...love it! :D

Ohhh...I am the first to enter! I never win anything, so I am crossing my fingers...ok, so here is something to make you laugh. "What do you get when you cross a donkey and an onion?" Give up? "well, mostly you get a onion with big ears, but every now and then you get a piece of ass that brings tears to your eyes!" Hope you are laughing!

Wow, I'm first to comment! (maybe because of the time difference - I'm in New Zealand and it's 9am on Sunday morning here). Anyway, you're probably not going to send this all the way to New Zealand but I thought I'd comment anyway and say that I love your site and check it every day. I especially love to knit baby hats but am gradually exploring knitting larger projects too. I love your Taiyo scarf and thought it would make a great gift for my mother-in-law but we can't get that wool here. I'm looking for a good substitute but if I can't find something, I might see if my friend in Japan can send me some.

Anyway, thanks for the great site.

I especially love to knit baby hats, which is how I happened upon your designs a few years back, but I am now trying to branch out into bigger projects.

I love your Taiyo scarf and thought it would make a great gift for my mother-in-law but we can't get that yarn here. I'm looking for a good substitute but I love those particular colours so much so might see if I can get my friend in Japan to send me some Taiyo instead.

Anyway, thanks for a great site.

Hi Susan,

I just hope I'm not hat'ed out before I start having babies! I'm working on a baby shower stash right now, this yarn would be perfect for it! Something good: We found out today my brother and his wife are having another girl. This means a lot those colors would work great for my new neice. Something funny: This is the #3 baby for them in three and a half years, the other two are girls as well! That apron would be great for them, well as long as they don't fight over it. Surely that wouldn't happen. ;0)

He sat at the top of stairs looking at her and she sheepishly came back in to pick him up!!! We both had a good laugh

Ooh! What lovely stash!

Something cute? While I was babysitting a 3.5 year old a couple of weeks ago she was instructing me how to cook the sausage for her supper - make the fire high (gas stove) and then keep turning the sausage over until it's all brown, then cut it into little bites because she can't eat the whole thing at once. Then she instructed me to put a wipeable placemat down on the table because she can be messy when she eats.

Love babysitting her! :)

So I stopped doing needlework for the summer in order to devote time to my garden and to learn preserving and canning.

The garden was slow because we had so much rain and so little sun, but the weather changed and it started to produce.

And then the deer came and ate everything.

Go ahead and laugh, I know I will...later. Some time. :D

Hi Susan! I love reading your blog and seeing what you're up to, and I especially love reading your stories about the Collector. My daughter would love the apron if we won, I'm sure. I also love listening to your podcasts and have been eagerly awaiting your next one (I know you have a lot on your plate now, though!) Your patterns are so sweet- I recently finished the cupcake hat for a gift, and have made several of the sweet pea hats as gifts, too. All have been very well received and they always get lots of compliments. Thanks so much for coming up with such wonderful patterns. I'm purplemama on Ravelry, and belong to the Itty Bitty Knits group. =)

OH these yarns would be perfect for baby Sophia, my
granddaughter born on Tuesday August 18, 2009 at 2:20 AM. She lives in Seattle Wa, and the hats I could
make would keep her little head warm and dry, as would the hats I would make for her 14 month old brother. If I could I would send a picture. Her birth makes me a winner! but I sure would love the yarn.So many itty bitty hats and goodies from the book coming out could be made. I am almost finished with
the frog pacifier holder for Sophia. I had made the elephant pacifier holder and the striped elephant for her brother, and shipped them to Seattle, but
someone else along the way is enjoying them ( I hope), they never arrived. :(
Hope I win. I would sneak some of the yarn to make one of the chickens, I was just able to buy the pattern. So exciting.

What a generous giveaway - thank you! If you can give this amount of yarn away, I can't even imagine what the rest of your stash looks like. You should write a post about it. It would be fun to see how much yarn you have collected over the years, how you store/organize it, etc. Maybe an in-depth look at the studio too!

OK, I can't think of any funny little stories to tell you to entice you to chose me. I can tell you I LOVE your yarn, I LOVE your books, I LOVE your patterns. I am anxiously waiting for your new book to arrive. I am a stay-at-home-grammie to 4 little girls and a baby boy due in November. They are 6, 5, 3, & 1. You would really make my day if my name popped up for the "Super-Duper Giveaway".

Did I mention that one of my granddaughters was watching a movie and was assigning her cousins to each of the characters. She turned to me and said, "Grammie, there are 2 fat chickens. Which one would you like to be?" I have learned to never be offended if you aren't gonna do something about it. Out of the mouths of babes.
