Super-Duper Giveaway!

Hi Knitters,
I'm cleaning out big time. Which means if you want to win a big bunch of yarn you are in luck. I am throwing in a sweet little handmade apron in a 4-5 year-old size. I bought this for The Collector and she only wore it once or twice. It has been folded up in a drawer for years so it needs a good press. It is in perfect condition. The Collector isn't much of an apron girl and I'm not either. The apron has two buttons in the back. It is completely adorable and vintage looking and some little girl out there would just love it. It would make a great art smock, too.
Okay, here is the yarn that I will happily pack up and send to you when you win:
3 skeins of Tahki Cotton Classic in light blue (already wound full skeins)
2 skeins of Tahki Cotton Classic in off white (already wound full skeins)
4 skeins of Tahki Cotton Classic in white (already wound full skeins)
1 skein of Tahki Cotton Classic in red (already wound full skein)
2 skeins of Rowan All Seasons Cotton in Lemon (really pretty yellow)
2 skeins of Rowan All Seasons Cotton in Orange Creamsicle  variegated
1 skein of Rowan All Seasons Cotton in Denim variegated
1 skein Classic Elite Provence in purple
1 skein Classic Elite Provence in blue (already wound full skein)
2 skeins Tahki Cotton Classic Tweedy Cotton in multi blue, red and yellow
1 skein Tahki Cotton Classic Tweedy Cotton in multi purple, green and pink
1 skein Noro Sukara (gorgeous!!)
1 skein Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted in Georgetown #152 (gorgeous!!)
1 skein Cascade Luna 100% Peruvian Cotton in yellow

Yep, all of that is included. That's enough yarn for a whole lot of baby hats or for anything you feel like. I need to clear out and I hope you can help.

Leave me a comment on this blog post and say hi, tell me something good, tell me something funny, whatever comes to mind. Leave some sort of identifying information like a name, location, link, email address (it's up to you). Please do not email me to enter, you need to leave a comment. I am not sure when I will end this contest. Next week is spotty for me, I will be in and out and my work load is never-ending. I am just opening the contest up and then I will end it when I get a chance. I am leaving it at that. Leave only one comment, please.

I will randomly select a winner with a number generator. I will post the winner on my next blog post. The winner will have 2 days after I post to contact me with their mailing address. If I don't hear from the winner after 2 days I will select a new winner and then I will post it on the blog.

That's all. Have fun! Go for it!
best, susie
p.s. more to come...this is hardly scratching the surface.

Oh, that apron is the best. My toddler is definitely an apron girl, she loves hats and aprons, mittens, scarves, anything she can put on.

The yarn is fabulous too, of course.

The good/happy thing I can contribute is that my 15.5-year-old most-beloved ewe Molly is recovered and thriving after a couple of recent dicey weeks. Thank goodness for large animal vets who know what they're doing.

HI!!, That little outfit would look cute on my 5 year old. Two years ago our family was going to a company Christmas dinner. We got to the resturant and all piled out of the van(we have 6 kids)My 5 year old, then 3 is holding my hand and skipping across the parking lot says in a loud voice,"I smell dinner!" We all lost it. LOL

That yarn looks so yummy, I have a few kids I could knit for with all that, even recruit my 17 year old to help. :)

In case you didn't know (as it would seem that I didn't), don't go to Florida on vacation with old sun block. And if you do number 1, don't do the following: stay out in the sun for around 5 hours looking at all the really cool fishies in the water by the rocks. If you do both #1 and #2, you will burn places that make sitting, walking, standing still very uncomfortable. Walking with the back of your knee caps burnt is not even fun. That's my funny thing.

And now for this: I love this blog. :D Your hats make me all kinds of happy, even though I don't have kids, know kids, or have anyone in my life making kids right now. I have your first book and am knitting through it for charity. I started with the petal hat. Thanks for sharing your great designs (esp. the free ones on Spud and Chole!).

Here's something funny... I had a dream I was making star-shaped dishcloths this morning, just before I woke up. I've never made anything star-shaped and I figured out how to do it in my dream. (I'm a new-ish knitter, you see.) If I win this lovely contest I'll try out my dream technique and see if it works. (=

Hi, Susan! Our granddaughter, Zoe, loves hats, so I am having fun knitting through your Itty Bitty designs. The one most commented on so far has been the birthday cake hat. People stop Zoe & parents everywhere wanting to know where they got her hat. Even the doctor at Zoe's 1-year checkup said that everyone should have a birthday hat like that! I just smile and keep knitting! Thank you for bringing lots of joy to so many. I've recently retired...more time to knit (smaller paycheck) so would love to win!!

Hey Susan_
I just got back from Maine and visisted a wonderful shop there - Heavenly Socks in Belfast Maine. Just the type of great local shop your readers would like. They carry a nice selection of "Maine made" yarns which supports the local, farmers, spinners and dyers - picked up a skein from one of my favorite farms Done Roving. If you get a chance to visit 'mid-coast Maine you'd love Belfast.

Thanks for another chance to win one of your generous give aways.

What an AWESOME giveaway!
The funniest/cutest thing I can tell you is that my 2.5 year old daughter wants to knit. She takes my needles and says "I knit, I knit" and taps the needles together and tosses the yarn around like a salad. Adorable! A chip off the old block!
Thanks for being so generous.

Hi Susie,
Wow, what a giveaway! My 4-year old would love the apron, we are cooking a lot together right now. And I am thinking of a summer dress I could make with all that cotton yarn for either her, or my grand-daughter (yes I have a 4-year old and a grand-daughter, crazy!).

I love all your tales about the Collector, she reminds me of my oldest daughter. Take care,

Hi Susan! What an awesome giveaway; thanks for the opportunity. It's Michelle from Chicago. I don't know if you remember, but I'm the one who sent you the pictures of my girls in the sweetheart hats last year {Maeve & Fiona}.

I do have a funny story to share; however, is a bit embarrasing. But. I'll risk humiliation and tell it. Maeve is our oldest and she just turned 4 on 8.15. Daddy has always struggled with his 'sailor' mouth and just recently I heard Maeve use a bad word! She was in the bathroom and had just went potty. She is a big girl and is very good about washing her hands. But is NOT good about drying them. So after she washed, she tried to open the door, but was not able because her hands were wet. And out of frustration - to no one but herself yelled out, "I CAN'T GET THE ----ING DOOR OPEN!!!"
........
My only response was to go and open the door. So I did & she just said very calmly and cooly, "Thanks, Mommy!" And went back to playing.
I hope this wasn't too harsh/crude to tell on your blog. But I find that people really get a kick out of these kinds of stories. :)

{f.y.i. she hasn't said it since, so I just left it alone.}

Hi! I wanted to tell you how much I love your blog. I read it faithfully everyday. And now you are offering another great give-away. The apron is fabulous - I have to admit - I focused on it first - very vintage and little girl looking. I would love a chance to win this gorgeous apron and of course all the yarn would be a bonus too - I love knitting for babies. Now if someone in the family (not me) would just have a baby already - the youngest cousin is turning 5 - we need a baby!

I just found out I'm going to be an Auntie! :D

I also know a 4 year old who would just squeal in delight over that apron!

Hmm... something funny. I use transit to get to and from work every day. While riding along, I either knit or crochet to keep my fingers busy and the time just flies by (considering a round trip is 5 hours every day!) In the past week, I burned through a giant ball of Peaches and Cream coton turning the lovely cotton into washcloths for gifts. On one of the buses I use, the driver noticed that every day I seemed to be always working on the same size square, never growing or getting anywhere and it had him puzzled... until I pulled out 11 more identical squares out of my bag! LOL I blew him away!

Wow, wow, and WOW - what beautiful yarns! Again, how generous of you to share. I never miss your blog. Besides all the great patterns and insight from you, all the incredible links - my whole knitting world has grown immensely. As for the apron, have to admit I am an apron girl - because my grandmother always wore one (and she made them - beautiful hand-smocked and huck stitch). They were apparently magical because all the food that came out of her kitchen was fabulous! (Mine, perhaps not as magical...) Thank you again.

How generous you are to give away all these FABULOUS yarns, Susan! I knit for charity (hats, sweaters & blankets) and use this as the opportunity to try the "better" yarns since the items only take a little bit of yarn. Makes me feel a whole lot better to make something useful...much better than just swatching!
