Hi Susan, wanted to say first that the yarn is in a bamboo steamer basket (minus the lid). It's a great way to cook vegetables and keep all the nutrients intact. Secondly, I would love to win the book. It looks spectacular. Thanks so much, you sweet thing you.

By the way, the bamboo/wooden container the yarn cakes are in is used to steam food in, typically dumplings. Such a clever way to display the yarn as the cakes look like Chinese dumplings!

the bamboo basket thing is a steamer. you put vegetables or dumplings into the basket cover withe top and set it over a put of boiling water to steam the food.
ok so onto the drawing…..oh those yarns are so beautiful. And the book is perfect because i love to change things up from the pattern or create my own stuff. that's why i learned to knit in the first place.
btw i love the the dolls r knit in one piece
