Hi Knitters,
First things first, there is a giveaway going on right now over on Sheep Dreams for the Spud & Chloë at the Farm book and the yarn to make Spud and Chloë! All you have to do to enter is leave a comment. Dianne is one of the organizers for the Kentucky Sheep & Fiber Festival where I am having a workshop and a book signing. Also, Dianne lives on a farm where they raise sheep and loads of other animals. She has a lamb-cam set up in her barn for lambing season. Dianne is one busy woman.

Okay, now onto my lovely new yarn bowl. I am dying to share this talented potter with you. Julie Knowles Pottery is the Etsy shop where I purchased this flower design yarn bowl. I love it so much and it is making me really happy while I knit. I highly recommend Julie's shop.
Here is the link:
I am blown away by the beauty and charm of this sweet yarn bowl. It is so exquisite in every way. To hold it is to really feel the handmade heft and quality of this piece of art.I keep switching out the yarn I place in the bowl because I have so many projects going. The yarn bowl has held up to four different yarns a day lately.A piece like this at your side makes knitting even more fun if that's possible.
Below is a short and chatty spinning video for you today. I propped my camera up on the arm of the couch so it isn't the best but that's okay.
The video is cut off here on the blog, for a full screen viewing click here to go to Youtube to watch me spin.
Enjoy the spinning and thanks for keeping me company, everyone. I sure do appreciate you all.
best, susie

Wow! I heard it is relaxing to spin and I have to tell you that it's very relaxing to watch too. I love watching you spin, I want to spin one day too but right now with our 4 little girls I haven't the time or the $ for that. One day... One day I hope to teach these precious girls to knit and crochet and hopefully spin too. Thanks for sharing your blessings and talents, it's a pleasure to keep up with you.
May you be blessed

I loved watching you spin. I noticed your socks right away! What weight would that yarn end up being? It looks like it's a sport or lace weight, but it's hard to tell on the video. Can't wait to see what you knit up with this yarn!
LOL. I said to myself, *chuckle* She's wearing her socks. You're so cute, Susan.
Gosh, you are so pro! Your wheel is so compact and cute. It's super whisper soft too.
What an awesome bowl to find for a ball of yarn. Love the yarn in it too.
The spinning was really interesting, I've never seen it done before. Thanks for the link for the S&C at the farm giveaway! and the lamb cam is the best, I bookmarked it so I can check back in often.
Beautiful bowl! She really does great work!

I haven't seen anything like that but the spinning seems interesting and wonderful.
I have been looking at yarn bowls for along time! I notice that Julie's have a single hole option that many other potters do not have! Pulled the trigger and bought one of hers! Can't wait to use it!

It is very relaxing watching you spin. I've tried it a couple of times and didn't have much success. I guess it takes practice. I couldn't believe it when you said you've only been spinning a couple of months. You look like a pro!
Thanks for being so open and sharing so much of yourself and your life in addition to your wonderful designs!
PS I love the scarf you were wearing.
Thanks for the video - your wheel is so quiet! My makes a low whooshing sound, but I am its second owner, and it was a tad beat up when it came to me. I am very new to wheel spinning - just finished my first skein, 2 ply :) It is so wonderfully relaxing, isn't it?
love the socks, too!
It is always so nice to catch up on what you are working on. Your spinning has really improved! You should be proud of the work that you do. The socks are great...the bowl is fun and happy looking. Missed you at the Knit-In yesterday but figured that you were busy with your family on the weekend!
Hugs!
Sara
