When I opened my mail today I got a sweet surprise. Sylvia at Blue Sky Alpacas sent me a little stack of the Knit Chickens pattern. I posted about the chickens, if you are interested, here. I was thinking this past month has been so much fun on the blog and ravelry and I am feeling the love!

That means if you are an email subscriber, hop on over to my blog and leave a comment on the blog. Say hi, tell me about your chicken love, whatever you'd like, leave your name or something distinguishing on your comment.
I am going to pick a winner pretty quick so enter quick! You can be from anywhere, I'll send it to you. I will pick 3 winners with a random number generator. I will post the winners on my next blog entry, who knows when but soon.

Then those lucky chickens will need to email me (on my sidebar) to give me their mailing address. If you win, you will have 2 days after I post to email me. If 2 days pass and I haven't heard from you, I will then pick another winner.
Good luck, chicken lovers! And we're off!
I made up these Sweet Pea Hats for another set of twins that needed a gift last week. It seems twins are everywhere these days. I guess it's the new trend: )
This is the third set of twins I have knitted Sweet Peas for since last fall. I have made 2 sets of sweet peas for boy/girl twins and one set of sweet peas of boy/boy twins over the last few months.
These are teeny tiny hats. I can hold both of the hats on one hand. This set of twins was born 6 weeks early so teeny tiny is just right. I hope they do well, go home soon and that the hats will bring the parents a little joy during this difficult time.

On Ravelry some people have finished Sweetheart Hats and some have finished Sweetheart Washcloths. Take a look if you'd like.
Here are some patterns I am thinking about and you might like, too:
Have a good Monday, Knitters. One last note, if you click on the little arrows in the new Twitter box you can see previous entries if you are interested. Thanks to those who are following me on twitter. I am still trying to figure the whole thing out, it's pretty fun.

Oh my you have no idea how excited I am. I have "real" chickens but a friend of mine lives in a town where she can't have any, I want to knit her a few birds to make her smile until she can move to the country. I so hope I win!
I cannot tell you how much I want to get my hands on this pattern!! I am so smitten! You're little peapod hats are adorable!
I would love a chance to win a chicken kit. I usually don't like things like that but these are so different. Really cute.
I love the chickens!! I think they would look perfect in my best friend's parent's kitchen. I would love to win the pattern so I could make some for them for their anniversary next month!
Love your work, and your blog!
Leanne (Lunatic84@ gmail.com & Lunatic84 on Rav)
Oh! The Chicken patterns! My girl would have a fit! You see, we are planning to add chickens to our family this year to raise for eggs and to keep as "pets". My three year old has become obsessed with all things chicken! She constantly asks my husband when he will be building the coop for her chickens! She even asked if her chickens could go on a playdate with her friend's chickens!! How cute!
We have just gotten into the world of knitted animals--sheldon the turtle was our first-- and my girl is hooked! It would be so much fun to add chickens to our knitted menagerie!!
Keeping my chicken fingers crossed for a copy of that fabulous pattern!!

I'd love to win a chicken pattern! Thanks for the opportunity.
I just love the chickens - so friendly and require no cleaning out - my idea of the perfect pet lol. Hope all is well with you, Seona

I absolutely love this pattern as well. I would knit them for my kids of course. I started to knit a year ago and have made 5 hats out of itty bitty hats. If it wasn't for you books I am sure I would have given up on this craft! I would love to try these chickens out.
yea!!...I heart chickens...and roosters of course!
The chicken pattern is awesome!!! I've already contacted Blue Sky Alpacas and the Wool Shack trying to get my hands on one of the patterns. I'm planning on knitting a striped one out of the Blue Sky Dyed Cotton in tomato and poppy as soon as I possibly can!!! Wish I had your design talent.
Chicken love, yes! These would be so fun to make and give to poultry lovin' friends. Thanks for sharing.

I have always wanted to decorate my kitchen with roosters and my husband isn't into it... but maybe these chickens could ease their way into our home without him noticing!! :)... and then before he knows it I'll have my rooster kitchen! That seems painless enough doesn't it?!
I found the Knit Chickens on Ravelry tonight, fell in love, and immediately searched for the pattern. Unfortunately there are none available at UK stockists :( so I emailed Blue Sky Alpacas to see if they could help. I can't believe you are offering the very same pattern as a giveaway! I'll keep my fingers crossed x
Love the chickens!! Thanks!
I have only been knitting about a year and a half and I love your patterns! They are so much fun. It is great to read about how much you enjoy it all.

How cool! I would love to win.
I love your chicken pattern! I am afraid to show it to my kids as they will want me to drop my other projects so I can knit them some :)
I am a huge fan of chickens, knit or not. My former principal has chickens, and she let me name two of them. After she vetoed Cream Puff, Cupcake and Chipotle, she agreed to Henrietta and Sally Sunshine. I have modified the Marie Mayhew felted chick pattern to make felted snow chick Christmas ornaments for her the last three years. The last two were an angel and a skating chick. Next year's will be riding a bike!
Love the chickens....terrified of the real ones but Love these and I know my twoaugustgirls will....
Thanks for giving me a shot:)
Super cute chickens - great for older kids! Thanks for the offering!
Claudia O.
Another generous giveaway! I hope this is my lucky number, those chickens are too cute.
The pattern is adorable!
My friend is battling cancer. She is also a chicken and rooster collector. I think a happy knit chicken would be just the thing to cheer her.
Came over your chickens at Ravelry just now. I wonder how my birds will react to find chickens on my balcony when they come for food. I live in a town and feed sparrows and tits under my table on the balcony during the winter.
Need the pattern first ;o)
Melek
How very exciting! My sister and I LOVED the pictures of the chickens on the previous post.

Ooooh, I love those chickens and I'd love to win a pattern! I am always entering these contests, and never winning... so here's hoping! :)
I have been smitten with stuffed chickens for some time and love the version in Itty Bitty Hats, but my little girl wants something bigger in which to store her play eggs in when she's not whipping up pancakes or cake batter in her pint-sized kitchen. These versions are adorable! Thank you for sharing such a cool giveaway! Best wishes!
These kit chickens have to be the funkiest chickens around with their stripes and spots and rather 'healthy' appreance. They would surely light up anyone's kitchen counter!
Goodness gracious would I love to have this pattern!
The chickens are adorable with a capital adore. My little girl would flip if I knit one of these! Pick me, random number generator!

I love the chickens. My first real research job after college was working with chickens, so they hold a special place in my heart. I think that my 2 year old daughter would love a knitted chicken.
Your chicken pattern is adorable. My 8-yr old son asked me to knit Lucinda Guy's Florian Fox for his birthday a few months ago. I think "Foxter" would appreciate a few chickens around the coop!

I love those chickens! Teapot cozy here I come, er cluck ;)
I would love to knit a chicken for my mom. She kept chickens when we were growing up and I bought her chicks for Christmas one year. You should have seen her face Christmas morning when the new box under the tree (with holes hidden in back) started peeping and scratching. :-D

I love the Sweet Pea hats! Please enter me in the Chicken Contest. Thanks!
Chickens are so cute. I would love to make one.
Love the chickens. Think they're going to make really cool gifts for my niece and nephew. Imagine when they open up their parcel (I'm in Korea, they're in Canada)! I'll give them clues but I don't think they're going to guess they'll be receiving chickens in the mail. By the way, that January 20th chicken post introduced me to Blue Sky yarns. And I ordered like it was Christmas and money grows on trees. I love being Santa to myself.
I'd love this pattern- my LYS is not getting it in. I have chickens, chickens on my checks. My blog is Country-Chicken. I definitely need to make some chickens.
We're a chicken loving family, just like yours....we have our own free range chickens, and according to my husband, I'm the queen of chicken recipes. Sounds familiar, I'm sure! Thanks for your generosity with these giveaways and for my opportunity to win.
Oh, a giveaway! Wonderful! I just love those chickens and they would go quite perfectly with my collection of roosters. Besides, the chickens would be great to have for Easter! You are a sweetie for being so generous. Thanks!
This has been your month here! Between the washcloth pattern and baby hat with heart ear flaps I have been cranking yarn goodness out at a major rate! You have made me a happy knitter and I would love a chicken pattern to round out January.
Thanks for the chance to enter.

This pattern is sooo cute. Can't say that I love chickens because in real life they scare the liver out of me but I could definitely handle having these funky chicken around :)

I love all knit creatures, but I am crazy about the chickens! I wanted a rooster theme in my kitchen, but that is now expanding to include the females, too. These chickens are so cute, in fact, that they may push the roosters out completely! Thanks for the give-away.

The hats are just darling. How cute they will be on the babies. I wish them well and hope that they come home soon.
Ooooo! A giveaway! I'm geeked and love the fat ol' chickens!
I saw these chickens on your earlier post and thought they were so cute. Of course me mind was racing to to figure out who I could make them for. The very next blog I read after yours was a friend of mine that after 4 long years of not being able to get pregnant and then being all lined up to adopt a little boy has now found out that she is pregnant herself. What a miricle. On her blog she was just posting a sneek peek at how they will decorate the babies room and it is going to be "vintage farm". Of course they can't have really chickens but these would be so cute. I just recently bought both your books and I am loving them, I would love to have this pattern as well!
I love the Chickens! They are so cute.
I love the chickens, they are bright and cherry.

Love the chickens! Thank you for your blog and giveaways!
What I'd really like are some real chickens, but since I don't live on a farm (yet), I'll settle for some knit ones I can whip up!
I could make the chickens for my 5 year old son. Perhaps "chickie" could replace his current best friend "ring-y" which is... a red metal binder clip. Funny kid :)
I made the seaman's cap for my 5yo and 24yo sons this winter using Noro kureyon. I lined them with fleece using your tutorial and they are the warmest hats ever! You'll love them.
