Elefante Giveaway!

Hi Knitters,
I have been wanting to knit an elefante in left over sock yarn for quite some time now. Yesterday I pulled out my remaining yarntini in the appletini color way and plunged right in. I used US size 3 dpns and it turned out as cute as a button. What a great way to use up the sock yarn remnants sitting in your stash. You should try this, it works like a charm.
This pattern has been such fun to watch. I wrote it up about one year ago and it has taken on a life of its own. As of today there are 231 finished elefantes posted on ravelry and 1185 in people's queues. Elefante is #14 in popular toy patterns on ravelry as well. I love that. Every day this pattern gets tons of hits on my blog and that makes me so happy.
In honor of this stripey friend and the joy this blog brings me, I am having my first giveaway!
Here's what you have to do to win my appletini elefante, knitted by me with love:
Leave a comment on this post, you don't have to say much, even a simple hello is fine. I will accept comments for this contest through Friday, April 11, 12:00pm central time.
On Saturday, April 12th, I will have one of my kids randomly draw (I will take pictures of the process and post them) the winner. I will post the winner by the name left on the comment that same day! The winner will then need to email me with a mailing address (kept private) so I can send elefante to its new home. I can't wait.
**I will include a couple more surprises (having to do with knitting, of course) in the package. They are good surprises having to do with some of my favorite things!**
From my hands and needles to your home this sweet elefante will fly!
I want to sincerely thank you, dear Knitters, for your knitterly support over this past year and a half. I love this blog. It has become a home to me and hopefully to you, too.
Cheers!
best, susie

A link to your blog was sent to me by a Japanese friend, living in Germany, who doesn't even knit but who knows I do (and who has a 2 yr old)! What a cute elefante! And thank you for the pattern. I will have to make one for her, and for the ever-increasing number of children in my life these days. Very cute!

My daughters have been obsessed with elephants since riding one for the first time at the zoo last weekend. I hope to either knit or win one for them. I am a new knitter and started taking classes after I saw your itty-bitty books. I was overwhelmed when I flipped through them and became desperate about wanting to learn to knit. Thanks for sharing your talents with the world!

Many thanks for the inspiration that both your books have provided. The kids in my life, my own, and those of friends, cousins, beautician's grandkids, kids of people I meet while knitting in public and on and on all send out a big thanks for the easy, adorable, and fun knitted toys they get from Mister Bluebird.

It would be so nice for me (yes, I an being a tad bit selfish here) to have my very own Susan B knitted toy. Also as a University of Alabama gal...nothing says Alabama like an Elephant! Al Elefante has a nice ring to it...don't ya think?

Anonymous said...

I love this elefante and if I don't will the drawing I will just have to knit my own. I was lucky enough to have a daughter who is just a blessing to knit for. Pour girl, everything I knit these days either goes on her head, around her neck, on her feet or on her back. Hopefully when she looks back at pictures she won't ask me why I made her wear that.

Thanks for the continual entertaining and informational blogs, I am looking forward to the new book!

Oh, how I love the pink and greens!! Matches my two year olds room perfectly. I have seen these little guys, but haven't made one yet. I just finished my first frog paci clip and it is DIVINE! I am going to attempt to make some little ears and a tail and knit up the same body and make a brown little monkey out of one! Won't that be cute. Any suggestions for ear patterns would be greatly appreciated. I love you blog and you have wonderful knitting patterns. I have made several things out of the Itty Bitty Nursery book and many more on my project list to complete!

Oh this is such a beautiful elefante! I love it. Please enter me in for this. My dear Mom has been an avid elephant collector for decades. When I was three years old, I knocked over and broke over three quarters of her collection. Since that time (over 25 yrs have passed), I have made it my goal to give her elephant gifts several times a year. I love finding different types, fun colors, etc... she loves receiving them too. Thanks so much!

Hi Susan
My big kids gifted me with both your Itty Bitty books and I love the patterns. I seem to have a thing for knitted elephant toys as I have collected several different patterns for them. My little daughter has also asked for an elephant motif on her new vest.
Thank you for all your wonderful designs that you so willingly share with other knitters.
PS I would love that little elephant to fly down under to us in Australia.

Oh Susie, I know I don't have a snow balls chance, but I certainly would love to have him for my new grandson to be due in mid July. I've not tried the pattern yet as my life is so busy with keeping my 2-1/2 years old grand daughter 3 days a week and then helping my mom as we just put my dad in the nursing home. So kniting has been put to the side and now w/ the new baby coming. I'll be keeping him along with his big sister. So I guess ife will get busier for me for a while. I love your blog though. Thanks for sharing your life with us!!
