Hi, Knitters,
In the past I have had people request to see my handknit sock drawer. I have never shared the inside of my dresser drawers before but the other day I was folding some freshly washed handknit socks to put back in my sock drawer and the sunlight was hitting just right and I stepped back and took a moment. I thought about how pretty all of the handknit socks look together and what kind of hours of knitting and pleasure went into creating the fine collection I have today. There is a lot of yarn and years of knitting and living combined in here.
Now, not only is there one pull-out drawer but....
there is another....
.... and both drawers are deep and double-layered with more handknit socks hiding underneath.
To make things even better, the dresser belonged to my beautiful mother.
It's all a treasure to behold.
best, susie

I love the idea of using your treasured mothers's dresser to hold your cherished hand knitted socks. How I wish my drawers were this full of great socks. I better get at it if I want it to happen!
wow! that is inspiring, Susan! you make me want to be a better sock knitter. (=
oooh! love Love LOVE!! thank you soo much for sharing <3 :)
Are those Noro socks itchy?
Such beautiful socks. I love them all. Thanks for sharing.
Bonney - The Noro socks are wonderful.
Susan, you have a way of making a drawer of socks into something beautiful, worthy of appreciation! I love that the dresser belonged to your beautiful mother! I am so grateful for my beautiful mother's things too.
I can only imagine how happy this must make you when you open these drawers! Truly a colorful, beautiful work of art - you are an inspiration!
Thanks you so much for sharing this treasure with us.
I've stopped knitting socks cuz the last pair I wore once and the heel wore thru. I can't figure if its the shoes i'm wearing or just my luck. I wear either Birkenstock or Croc.
This is one of my favorite posts. Your collection is gorgeous. Inspires me to move faster on my projects so I can knit more socks! Thanks for letting us into your drawers! Haha
Drooling over your sock drawer. My goal is to make socks. I'll get there! Great photos!
I love that your hand knit socks are lovingly placed in your mothers dresser. You are an inspiration to me. I think another pair of handknit socks is in my future.

Oh my goodness, that is such an amazing site of colour, textures and love all tucked into treasure chest.
MY sock drawer is definitely the opposite haha!
This just oozes your personality:)
Love (1) Jealous (1) Amazing (1)
Must learn to knit such beautiful socks...
I am sooooo in sock envy! I think I see one pair that is the same yarn as a pair I'm making right now.
Wow! I feel like a slacker. :) But an inspired slacker.

I love them all, and all the more knowing it's your mother's dresser.
Beautiful! I hope my sock drawer looks like that some day - I'm only on my second pair right now
What beautiful socks in a loving, beautiful dresser - how inspirational that is to the rest of us. Thanks for the photos.
How do you manage to keep them? Mine all get given away as gifts (sometimes reluctantly). I've only kept one pair and snagged them on a door corner the first time I wore them!
Wow, that's impressive! I have never tackled socks knitting, too timid I am afraid, however, you have given me inspiration to try my first pair. Thanks Susan. I just love reading your blogs, look forward to it!
OMG when do you find time to wear all those fantastic socks? Love the array of colour, x
I love these pictures! Just looking in this drawer would be a good way to start your day!
Love the colors...what a collage! But I think even more important is where they're stored. The older I get, the more I appreciate my mother. She's advancing into a new place with dementia & not always the woman who raised me.
How beautiful!! and inspiring! When I see my 4 pairs of hand knitted socks, it makes me smile a quiet smile. Thank you for sharing such an intimate part of yourself.
I love that picture so much! what a fantastic collection. I have also managed to give away a bunch of handknit socks I've made, because I want everyone to know just how awesome knit socks are! If I don't have a sock on the needles at all times I feel out of whack ;) Thanks again for sharing these little peeks into your home.
So bright and cheery on this rainy Sunday in Central IL!
Lovely! It's almost as if all are color coordinated! My drawers don't look nearly that nice.
Sox are my mainstay of my knitting passion.
I wear my handkni sox just about every day of the year. Yes, including summer mid-MO days. After all, wool is an insulator!
I Love Your Drawers Of Colorful Jewels !!!!!!!!!
Hugs
Cowabunga!! What a beautiful bunch of socks.
Lovely. Just lovely! Beautiful knits and beautiful dresser.
I love the drawers and wish I had enough to fill a drawer
Happy Feet!!
Oh no! Now I have sock drawer envy! The scrap socks are my favorites.
Those are some happy looking drawers full of love!
Also, this is neither here nor there, but I just finished my Hitchhiker scarf. That was A LOT of garter stitch! I thought you might relate... :)
Susan,
Did you see that WEBS highlighted your post on their facebook page? Just love all those handknit socks, nothing compares!

Your new banner with all the beautiful socks is pure inspiration. Thank you.

Oh my! It's like looking into a candy shop window, so many beautiful colors. I believe I have just found incentive to finish a pair of socks, thank you.
I agree wholeheartedly with the previous commenter. I LOVE the colors of your sock drawer. I also have a whole drawer of socks, but my socks are much more muted and sedate. You've inspired me to buy some bright yarns and get knitting!!
Now that is amazing and beautiful! I am stuck on my fourth sock. I think I have a long way to go!
The best sock drawer ever :)
Magic Susan, wonderful collection, lots of memories. Really wonderful!
Magic Susie, wonderful collection, lots of memories
<3 the whole drawer of your hand knit socks. I certainly Pinned this.
Amazing pics and story! You have inspired me to get my first pair of socks done! I'm just awestruck! :-)
Hi there! I have only just found your blog how could I have missed it I am always looking at things to do with textiles, Yarn, knitting. I came via keirybeeparis! Well, I am really glad to have found it now is all I can say! These drawers of socks are just what I have envisaged having for years, however,I feel somewhat intimidated by knitting patterns for socks that I have seen - there is a whole different language going on! When you know nothing of it it's hard to recognise a good pattern to start with :-( and which yarn to start with all lead to cries of HELP!!Thank you for the visual treat and inspiration I am off to look around the rest of your blog and see what other treats you have in store, I can't wait!
Oops! I should have said I came via kirybeeparis and from there to knittingsarah.com and I am greatfil to both!
Sorry for the typos - I'm rushing as I really, really should be doing something else not nearly so enjoyable and I just know you will understand the pure joy of finding a site that makes every part of you your fibre loving spirit want to dance a jig! So, Keirybeesparis and I clearly meant I'm grateful to both!
This is beautiful and a goal I hope to achieve!
Eye Candy for this non-socker.
I love being a member of your group.
Thank you for sharing!
Awesome! truly inspiring. Thank you
