Possibilities

Hi Knitters,
That was one fast week. I feel good about a couple of work accomplishments this past week. Of course I always wish I had more time or that I got more done but that's how it is. This morning I wound and wound a bunch of fresh skeins of Blue Sky Worsted Cotton and Spud & Chloƫ Sweater for some new projects I am working on. I still get a kick out of freshly wound yarn and how it is full of possibilities. One of the projects is for my fourth book, I am almost done as this is the last one. I feel like I have been saying that forever.

The other wound yarn is for a bunch of magazine projects I am starting. My mind has been running over-time with ideas. I am so excited about it. I love all of the potential resting at my fingertips. I have only done one knitting magazine project before. Do you remember it from a couple of years ago? I made a fun blue elephant for the Holiday Issue of Knit Simple 2008. Click here to see an assortment of finished Elephants. Also, click here to read my post from September 2008 about this sweet guy.

The thing is that this particular elephant didn't ever catch on too much when in fact it is one of the coolest toys I have ever designed. There are only 8 finished projects on Ravelry. The ears are lined with an attached I-cord. The body is slick and easy. The best part is that the shaping of the trunk purposely leaves two tiny holes on the sides where the tusks are added later. I love this project. You never know what is going to catch on or what will get lost in the shuffle. I think this Stuffed Elephant #31 deserves a second look. New possibilities for the old elephant, maybe?

Here are some other possibilities I am yearning to make:

I have a thing for scarves, obviously.

What are your knitting possibilities?
best, susie

  1. What a delicious site! Your possibilities sound awesome and can't wait to see what you do. For me, there's a possibility for a baby blanket for my future godson in Karabella's Aurora 8; a moebius for myself in Plymouth superwash; a mini cowl for my littlest princess in Classy superwash; a shrug for my eldest princess in Classy superwash; and a moebius in alpaca for my mom to match her alpaca cardi.

  6. I'm the one coveting Pine and Ivy. (no offense to Rich) but that was my error.)
Also, Claudia handpainted fingering in Peony colorway for "Andrea's Shawl", as long as we're on the subject!

  7. I'm yarning to make the tea leaves cardigan. I have the raw yarn I just need to dye it and then knit it. This will be my first attempt at dyeing yarn so wish me luck.

  8. That yarn makes me salivate. WOW!
Possibilities? I am just thoroughly enjoying Knitting thru the "itty bittys". POSSIBLY I will get thru the 3 books before I turn 80. That gives me 25 years.

  10. How do you wind yarn up like that? I know super simple question but I hate how all my yarn is wound when I buy it from the store and I want to rewind it like the yarn in the pix.
