Link Time

Hi Knitters,
Hope you are well. I am giving you a sneak peek exclusive of one of my next free Spud & Chloë patterns. It is a squishy, cable-y, chocolate yummy scarf. It is super-duper simple and I have about 5-inches to go. This would be a perfect first cable project. It's a great scarf for men or women. I am knitting the scarf in Spud & Chloë Rootbeer which is the richest dark brown yarn I have run across. The color pulls you in for good. Soon, very soon. I'll let you know when it's up for download if you are interested.

I don't know if you know this but I collect links for you. Every time I see something fun, incredible, different or useful I bookmark it to share. My bookmark pull-down is getting really full so it's time to share links. Here you go!

I stole (she won't mind) that link from Dianne.

That's enough for now, right?
Well, it's the start of another crazy week. Now the swim team is over, the kids are going to be around more than ever and the work inside our house is going to be more than ever. It's not just the kitchen.

Here is our kitchen this morning. That linoleum is probably the original flooring from about 30 years ago. When we moved in there was another layer of linoleum which we changed to hard wood. Now our hard wood is gone, too. See where the flooring changes? That's where a wall used to be. The boarded up window on the left is going to be a big sliding door out to our backyard and stepping onto our new deck which is almost finished.

The doorway to the right covered in plastic goes to our living room in the front of the house. This is the room where I take a lot of photos for the blog with the decoupage table. This is our makeshift kitchen right now. That table is covered with food items and paper goods (we have no sink).  I hope my table survives. Our refrigerator is sitting on a big piece of plywood in there, too. We have moved furniture and our piano into this room so it is incredibly cramped and crowded and messy.

The workers and their trucks will be pulling up any minute and it will all start again.

Now you know.
best, susie

  7. Oh! I've always wanted to knit a cable scarf but have, so far, been afraid to try. Your gorgeous scarf, knit in my favorite luscious color, has spurred me on! How many skeins of Spud & Chloe yarn does it require? (I'm going to buy it now so as soon as the pattern is ready, I'm ready!) Quick, Susan! Please knit those last 5". :-)

  12. Thanks for the links! I'm a fan of Myrtle & Eunice. I made her Chickummyjig pattern (it's on the side bar), and it makes a really fun funky chicken! You should give it a try (in all of your spare time...).
