Episode 20 ~ Antrorse Sweater & More!

Hi, Knitters,
Episode 20 is up on YouTube. If you'd like to watch directly or subscribe on YouTube click here. If you'd like to subscribe on iTunes or find out more click here.

I talk about a lot of different things today and this podcast is recorded on a couple of different days. One thing I share is a new hat design of mine called Fairytale Winter. It is available in a kit created by Tangerine Designs that is up for pre-order on November 7th.

The individual pattern will be available for download in my Ravelry Pattern Shop in January 2016. I will announce it when the pattern becomes available.

For now please check out the Cold Sheep Kit! The Cold Sheep kit is super cute and Casey of Tangerine Designs does a fantastic job with everything in her shop. I have a few of her wonderful project bags and I have met her a couple of times in person. She is cute and friendly and fun.

Click here for more pre-order Cold Sheep kit information.

From Casey of Tangerine Designs:
I'm planning on doing the Pre-orders Saturday, November 7 @ 10a.m. and 6
p.m. CST.  The Fairytale Winter hat and Melissa Tuttle Sibley's Slippery Slope Sock pattern will go out that week with the bags and extras to follow in
December.

Thank you to my lovely Miss Molly for modeling and to my son for his photography.

  1. Susan, your video podcasts are the best! It was fun to watch your sweater evolve through the course of recording over a couple of days. And so many cool things you shared with us! I'm going to be following those links for weeks. :) I always love that you're podcast style is so conversational -- it really is like hanging out with you, and I always look forward to new episodes. Thanks for sharing your time with us. :)

  5. Your sweater is beautiful and I am tempted to get this pattern. I do have a question, I knitted a top down V-neck pullover and found that the neck stretched out quite a bit. I was told this was due to the top down construction. Do you experience this is your top down knitting and if so how do you compensate for this or do you have any suggestions as to how to avoid this. My pullover was a raglan construction so I did not have any seam. Would appreciate your thoughts.
    Thank you

  6. Hi Marie,
Hmmm.... I don't have this problem with necklines. You could always use a smaller needle for the neckline to knit at a tighter gauge or there is a crochet chain technique (used after the garment is finished) that lots of people use to lock in the back of the neck area so it doesn't stretch. There are tutorials for this technique probably on YouTube and I think I heard Stephanie Pearl-McPhee has talked about this on her blog.

I hope this helped a little.

  7. I always enjoy your podcasts, such a treat. Thanks for the link to Hue Loco! I've been looking for a pattern to make my own project bags. I've bought a few bags from different sellers on Etsy and they're great, but I'm a seamstress/quilter in addition to knitting and I keep thinking, I could make bags for myself for crying out loud, I've got as much of a fabric stash as yarn.;)

  11. Hi Sue,
I will ask Nicole about it! Thanks for the tip.
I did look into closed captioning on YouTube but I think I have to type in everything I say? I'm not sure if I understood this correctly.

Thanks for the reminder and of course I would love to have things be accessible for everyone.
