Hi, Knitters,
First, I'd like to announce the winner of the Gale's Art Sock Blank Club 3-month Subscription winner! The winner is Trwhip on Ravelry! Congratulations. I've contacted both Trwhip and Gale to let them know. Gale will be in touch directly to figure out the logistics. Thanks for entering everyone. Next week I have another HUGE giveaway to share that I know you will all be excited about. Stay tuned....

What about closed captioning for hearing impaired knitters???

I enjoy your podcasts and watch them again and again. I was wondering if the Madeline Tosh "modern" and the Yoth Yarns little brother in portabella are the same weight? If not, will they work well together anyway?
ReplyDeleteThank you
baker on Ravelry
I just love your podcasts Susan; thanks for taking the time to share so much with all of us!
ReplyDeleteI have a question that maybe you can address in a future podcast or on the blog sometime. I loved your tip from a while back about using a separate piece of yarn when starting the heel of striped socks and I also love the look of a contrasting solid heel. The few times I've done this, I have trouble keeping tension on the first few stitches of the new yarn, and the last few stitches of the previous color. Do you have any tips for changing colors on a heel?
Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how to do closed captioning but I will look into it.
Thanks!
Susan
baker on Rav,
ReplyDeleteBoth the tosh and the YOTH are the same weight, fingering weight.

Mary Claire,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words. You can tie on the new yarn with a tiny half-knot and really snug up the old yarn when you do a round or two with the new yarn. If you are opposed to knots you can unpick the knot and weave in the end later. This helps me keep things nice and tidy.

Awesome! I will try that next time!
