The blue ice art piece from the last post is in Family Fun magazine. It may be on their site. I got a lot of questions about how to make one. TC made it at Girl Scouts so I don't have much more information than that for you. It was frozen in a tin pie plate with a cup set in for the center hole. There were colored ice cubes set in. That's all I know. It is still a beautiful sight hanging on our tree.
Good Friday to you all:)
best, susie
oh how funny! I just love her personality.
ReplyDeleteThe taping of the cup to the head is cracking me up. How fun!
ReplyDeleteGREAT IDEA!!!!!! Maybe this is the way to add "lift" to my flat hair.
ReplyDeleteThat is a riot! Very creative!
ReplyDeleteI remember crazy hair days when Em was still in school and they were too funny.
Have a great weekend!
T.C.'s "crazy hair" is awesome. So much can be done with those plastic red cups and tape. They have been the essentials for many a costume, at this house. I spy a table with a very interesting project and some gorgeous green yarn, no? Can you tell what might be going on?
ReplyDeleteSo clever. Storing this trick away for fancy dress in the future. Nice one!
ReplyDeleteOh, I like it! Put a halo on her head and you've got Lady Gaga...
ReplyDeleteQuick! Knit some of her hair up in "Marley Topper" fashion to go on top of her "do"!
ReplyDeletePS: How is your house always so clean?
ReplyDeleteLove it! I have a thing for any hair!
ReplyDeleteI think you two have uncovered another talent! Such fun!! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the hair! Also, here's the link to the Winter Sun Catcher: http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/winter-sun-catcher-824949/ It took me a while to find it so I figured I'd save others the trouble.. :)
ReplyDeleteHow fun; I thought in the beginning you were going to cut her hair off.
ReplyDeleteI swear I did this EXACT same thing for crazy hair day in high school! LOL How funny! She looks adorable:)
ReplyDeleteTC is just the cutest! You could do anything with her hair and she'd still be cute. (Do you think you could do that with my hair? lol)
ReplyDeletei really love the enthusiastic spirit of your youngest!

Dear Susan:
ReplyDeleteI really do have to complain. Your Heart on a String Hat needs a warning label: "Seriously addictive - take precautions!"
Apparently it is I treacherous to combine knitting on your hat pattern with watching the Olympics. Including the Heart on a String Hat I'm now 8 glorious hats into a serious problem! I can't stop! I'm blaming it ALL on you! Now I know why you ended up publishing an entire book of hats and still create more hat patterns. Is there help for us?
I caaaan't stop! And I feel number nine coming up any minute....

You can do this with larger containers as well. WE used a huge water bottle.
ReplyDeleteI love it! She looks like Cindy-Lou Hoo from Hooville.
ReplyDeleteJude from Perth, West Australia
your daughter is beautiful! wish we had such kind of fun days in my school..
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! I'm going to try that for crazy hair day in my school.
