I don't shop much at all but now that I have to hit the road in a few days I figured I should at least get a new pair of shoes. I love this new and modern version of the classic Mary Jane. These are possibly the best shoes I have ever owned. They are simply beautiful and well-crafted. They have a little heel, just enough to add an inch or two to my short stature. Anyway, if you spot a girl running here and there with a big bag of knitted toys and some slick new Mary Jane shoes, you'll know it's me.
I am trying to post my personal photos of the projects in Itty-Bitty Toys both here and there (there is Ravelry). There is a page with all of the projects in the book here on Ravelry. It is so fun to follow to see which projects become the most popular. So far it looks like the Baby Doll and the Egg to Bluebird are the early front runners. I still have a few more project photos to dig up in my photo archives but I am getting close to being done.

Above is a sweet little Lamb from Itty-Bitty Toys that is really fun one to make.
I always try to photograph my finished projects from all kinds of angles before I send them off to the professional photographer. I like to remember things from every possible angle.
The legs are I-cords stuffed with cut drinking straws. I love the big sheep feet with the skinny legs. He is quite a character with a funny profile.
Isn't he sweet? There is a lot of personality packed into this little fella.
If you follow me here but you don't follow me there (Spud & Chloƫ, called Spud says!), I want to let you know that I am hosting a Tiny November Knitalong right now. There is no sign up or anything, it's all casual. I am posting this Tiny Turkey pattern in parts as I work.

So far I have 3 parts of the pattern posted:
If you join in, you are knitting right along with me as I work. Right now we have the body and head completed but I have no idea exactly what the finished turkey is going to look like. You get to see how things evolve. The turkey really is tiny, maybe 4 inches tall and 3 inches from front to back. The knitalong has been a new and fun thing for me to try. Anyway, hop over to the links above if you want to join me. I will be done in a jiffy!
I will be posting the entire pattern for the Tiny Turkey at the end as a free pattern for Spud says!. I'll keep you posted on when that pattern is available.
One last thing, I hope you all had a great Halloween. I got to walk around with this goofy bunch of characters for trick or treating. In the mix, along with my kids, there are some cousins and a few friends. We had a pirate skeleton, an old-fashioned lady ghost (The Collector), The Godfather, a biker dude (I think he was in the Village People), a vampire-like-goth lady, a cute lumberjack, a Badger fan and a Badger football player. That is quite a crowd. We also had my sister's family and my brother's family over for a birthday dinner and cake for the biker dude before the trick or treating. It was a wild night at the Anderson's.
When I woke up the next morning I found various kids sleeping all over the couches. I went to bed and then I guess everyone decided to sleep over. The house was full.
I hope your house was full, too.
best, susie
CUTE shoes...who makes them? I'm loving all of these animals...I'm thinking about making a collection for my grandma shelf.

ReplyDeleteOurs was full all right. My son turned 18 at 5:59 pm on Oct. 31 and had a houseful of his friends over for dinner, cake and yes, these seniors in high school went trick or treating. It was a blast!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see that your older kids got into the Halloween spirit of things too.
Love the new shoes. Can't wait to see them in person in Grand Rapids, MI.
ReplyDeleteI finally got the book for my birthday! The hippo is my favorite animal, with the sock monkey a close second. Third is the baby doll that I simply must make for my little girl, although she's not quite old enough for it yet...
ReplyDeleteSanta already told me I'm getting your book for Christmas and I can hardly wait. But the minute it arrives, or at least after the Christmas crazy settles down I plan to grab needles and start on that little sheep - LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteOkay - I am going out on a limb here and guessing Dansko shoes? Please tell us!
ReplyDeleteMy copy of Itty Bitty Toys cam in the mail today. I took it to show my sister the two projects I want to start first. Funny, they are the egg to bird and the baby doll. Too sweet!
