I love your quilt! What fun colors! I made a lot of clothes for my daughter while she was growing up, so when she left for college I made a scrappy quilt out of the leftover fabric. It was a fun "history" of her years. Kristin
You are one of the most creative women I know and I love your "no fear" attitude on trying new things. Of course, it helps when your first endeavors turn out so well! Your quilted totes are adorable, and best of all, one of a kind.:-) I don't know if you ever visit the blog www.lucends.blogspot.com but like you, she is a major knitter and has also decided to learn to sew. Guess what she is working on right now - her first quilt! She basically has followed the same format as you and may be a step ahead, but she has decided to have someone else quilt it. I think you would enjoy seeing her endeavors. Sewing is my first passion and I am so excited to see others find the joy in it! :-)
Your fabric selections are awesome! The quilt is going to be gorgeous. I love quilting and sewing in general. It's my favorite craft. The thing about stipling is moving your fabric around at a constant speed so that your stitches are uniform. The actual quilting is my least favorite because it's so cumbersome to manipulate that big piece of cloth around. I actually gave up quilting because of it. I now send my quilts out to be machine quilted. I just finished a Mystery Block of the Month from The Fat Quarter Shop. You can check it out on my blog. Good luck on your sewing adventure. Beautiful! I've been toying around the idea of doing a simple quilt for quite a while, but the one thing that baffles me - how many fat quarters did you buy? What would make a child sized quilt? Thanks!
