I love looking through all your photo collages.
The story about the turkeys really set me off and a
Reminded me how as little kids mom would give us a loaf of day old bread and we would feed the seagulls. They would swirl in the air above us getting braver and braver and closer as we threw the bread. It always felt like a scene in Alfred Hitchcock's movie The Birds. So scary!
The turkeys around here never get that close when my husband and I walk but that might be because we walk with a very large Wolfie looking dog who has been known to chase and get a mouthful of feathers from fleeing turkeys. She never actually has gotten one she just comes very close.Whatzitknitzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01296329628403155939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35689847.post-53269338738638882182014-11-03T04:23:27.563-06:002014-11-03T04:23:27.563-06:00AnnM ~ yes, I do think that hair will work with th...AnnM ~ yes, I do think that hair will work with these dolls! it will be fine.
susanSusan B. However, I have to say, the thing that sticks with me is the thought of those wild turkeys. Ugh-I have a bird phobia to begin with and our area west of Minneapolis has a wild turkey problem. They are NOT nice and they are indeed huge. (Shudders.) I'm looking forward to your shawl KAL. I made the Garter Ridge shalette and love it; for some reason, it took most of a weekend to apply the beads to the bindoff but it was well worth it. Stay away from those turkeys now.
-Dorothy B. My son was driving down the interstate near Cedar Rapids, IA with his son in a car seat next to him (it was a truck) and a wild turkey flew across 3 lanes of traffic and the median and right into his driver's side window! He doesn't remember a thing but he managed to pull the truck off the road and stop. Thank goodness the bird died because it was in the truck with them. They went to the ER and both were okay except for minor cuts from all the glass but none went in their eyes. I still call it a miracle and they don't call those turkeys "wild" for no reason!
It is cold down here in AR too and we had our first freeze Halloween night. Unusual for here.
I love all your projects and the fox is darling! I was working on the blond doll ( I forget the names) but had to set aside for some Halloween ghost ornaments I made for the grandboys and now there are some Thanksgiving little presents to make and then of course there's Christmas just an earshot away! I'm not a fast knitter like you but hopefully I will be soon as I have the 2 giraffes to finish, 2 scarves, 2 hats, and some mittens. Help!LOL! But at least the outside work is done for the year. Yes, the cold weather has brought out the cooking and baking and nesting bug.
I love those Solitude Yarns...well, the looks of them. Let us know how you like them.
I wrote down the podcast so I could revisit later. And yes, your hubby sounds like a keeper! Mine wasn't...Ha! Ha! Have a great week!
