You can tie on the new yarn with a tiny half-knot and really snug up the old yarn when you do a round or two with the new yarn. If you are opposed to knots you can unpick the knot and weave in the end later. This helps me keep things nice and tidy.
susanSusan B. I loved your tip from a while back about using a separate piece of yarn when starting the heel of striped socks and I also love the look of a contrasting solid heel. The few times I've done this, I have trouble keeping tension on the first few stitches of the new yarn, and the last few stitches of the previous color. Do you have any tips for changing colors on a heel?

Mary Clairenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35689847.post-47628342702651420842015-10-12T12:38:50.784-05:002015-10-12T12:38:50.784-05:00I enjoy your podcasts and watch them again and aga...I enjoy your podcasts and watch them again and again. I was wondering if the Madeline Tosh "modern" and the Yoth Yarns little brother in portabella are the same weight? If not, will they work well together anyway?
Thank you
baker on RavelryAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35689847.post-35006348084355987452015-10-11T21:09:33.460-05:002015-10-11T21:09:33.460-05:00What about closed captioning for hearing impaired ...What about closed captioning for hearing impaired knitters???

Sue
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
